Simply place the test's petrie dish in a suspected mold area and leave the lid open for two hours. Then close the lid and let the test incubate for two days. 
This will yield a positive or negative reading for mold. 

If nothing grows in the dish it means the spore count is so low as not to be dangerous.

If the disc grows fungus it is apparent that mold is present. At this point the optional lab analysis is recommended.

The optional lab analysis is available to indicate the exact count and type of mold & mildew present. 

For an additional $30.00 the manufacturer will provide a full analysis of the quantity and type of mold found.

The kits may be used one time. For multiple area testing additional kits will be required. using a test to first test the outside air, and comparing it against tests used in the home is a good method for determining if the indoor level is higher than normal. 

Mold testing is the only way to know what kind of mold you have.

Testing is also the only method to know if you have killed the mold after remediation.

If there has been a mold problem in the past periodic testing every couple of months is recommended to ensure that the mold has not returned.
