United
States Patented Ozone Elements
Air-Zone's
ozone
elements have received a patent from the U.S. Patent office.
A
U.S. Patent takes years of research and engineering design submissions
to obtain.
Over
95% of patent applications are rejected.
It
is extremely difficult to receive a U.S. patent as the inventor must prove
it is a different and new design.
It
took our engineers over 10 years to design these new ozone elements, and
what they have invented is state of the art.
Our
engineers designs are light years ahead of any other ozone technology available
today.
Almost
every other high powered ozone generator produced today uses basically
the same system;
A
transformer that supplies a high voltage to two screens separated by a
piece of non-conductive material such as glass or mica. Some use screens,
some use rods or tubes.
Basically
it is the same system in different forms. These systems can produce high
amounts of ozone, but they have some inherent problems.
First:
These
same plate designs have been used for over 100 years!
Thomas
Edison used this exact method to produce ozone in 1900, before they
even had instruments to measure ozone!
Second:
The
ozone plates or screens must be perfectly aligned to produce the maximum
amount of ozone they are designed for. If the grids are not aligned properly
ozone production drastically drops. If the grids are too close to each
other the high voltage will arc from one grid to another. Ozone production
gets lower and lower, and eventually the transformer blows out from overload.
The
plates often have to be completely removed and fully cleaned. Then they
have to be reassembled by the users in a perfect manner for them to work
properly.
Third;
These
old fashioned screens, or plates must constantly be cleaned to work at
maximum efficiency. If allowed to remain dirty the plates arc across the
buildup of gunk and the transformer again blows out. Our patented ozone
elements are designed to resist dirt buildup and not have these problems.
We
think it too much to ask that every one of our customers become an ozone
engineer, and have to deal with all these problems.
All
you have to do with our patented ozone elements is replace the inexpensive
air intake filter on the outside of the unit from time to time.
The
elements may also be blown out with air to remove any visible dust. We
think this is a lot easier than removing, cleaning, and perfectly reassembling
all the components of each plate.
Our
patented ozone elements are in a completely sealed housing so that there
is absolutely no adjustments required.
There
are no other corona elements like them available anywhere. Our patented
ozone elements are in a sealed non-adjustable housing so that their alignment
is always perfect.
This
is a far supierior element design than ANY other ozone generator manufacturer
has.
Due
to their design they resist accumulating dirt. When they do burn out, and
ALL ozone producing elements eventually will, they are extremely cheap
and easy to replace.
If
an element burns out it can be replaced by almost anyone with a screwdriver
in about 5 minutes. You simply remove the front cover, slide the old element
out and disconnect the wires. You then connect the wires to the new element,
slide it back into it's slot, and screw the cover back on. No alignment,
no assembly, no hassle. They are also very economical to replace
costing about $5.00 per year of use.
There
are no adjustments, zero nitrogen oxides,
nor is their any major cleaning required of them. As long as the air intake
filter is replaced occasionally these elements will last for years. The
air filters cost only pennies.
Any
unit without a dust filter will get dirty, and is destined to fail.
This
is 21st century design when every other ozone company is still using 19th
century designs!!
Our
replacement elements are also extremely low priced, and they only cost
pennies per each month of use.
Some
companies berate our patented ozone elements for being disposable. They
are disposable and they are designed that way so the customer can replace
these inexpensive ozone elements in minutes.
Our
patented ozone elements also last as long or longer than any other ozone
elements produced anywhere.
Old
fashioned ozone plates with their 100 year old design are now considered
archaic. Manufacturers continue to use them because they are extremely
cheap to produce, or they have no idea of how to make a better plate. Other
companies don't even understand how our ozone elements work!
Some
ozone manufacturers are using razor thin pieces of MICA
in their ozone plates.
MICA
is used instead of glass because if the ozone generator is bumped it does
not crack.
Because
of their primitive system of holding ozone plates together with spring
steel they need a material,
like
MICA, that if it falls out of it's slot, and it often will, doesn't crack
apart.
But
MICA is the cheapest and worst material to use in an ozone plate.
MICA
easily flakes apart, breaks, burns through, and shorts out the generator.
Stay
far away from any ozone generator using cheap MICA ozone plates.
Click
Here to learn why our U.S. patented ozone elements are far superior
than
"old style" cheap MICA
ozone plates.

Ozone
Output Per Dollar
Air-Zone
offers the highest ozone output per dollar of any ozone generator brand.
The only way to compare ozone generators is by the output in milligrams
per hour (mg.hr.). No other company offers as much ozone as we do
for as low a price as we do. Combined with our features of Patented
Ozone Elements, and the convenience of remote control, there is simply
no better ozone generator value available today.
True
Ozone Outputs
All
Air-Zone®
ozone generators have had their ozone outputs independently measured by
SGS,
the worlds leading verification, testing, and certification company. The
world respected Société
Générale de Surveillance otherwise known as SGS.
SGS
provides true certifications that cannot, on their companies well respected
reputation, be called into question.
Many
other ozone companies simply test their own machines under questionable
conditions and their mg/hr output levels of ozone might not be quite accurate.
You
may run across a company that tells you they have measured our machines
and our ozone outputs did not measure up to what we state they are.
That's why we use the independant tests from SGS
that cannot be called into question. Be sure an ask them which independant
organization has tested their machines.
Proper
Levels of Ionization
Too Much Ionization Turns
Walls Black!
Ion
Generators simply negatively charge the air's ions so that floating
dust particles will cling to a surface in the room, much in the way static
electricity does. They are toys compared to real ozone generators.
There are quite a few
problems associated with ion generators. To
do air cleaning, meaning removing pollutants, you need a very large amount
of ions. More than has been recognized as a safe level.
According to air science, indoor air has 100 to 200 ions per cubic
cm, outdoor fresh air has 200 to 500 ions per cubic cm, and a fresh
clean forest will have 1,500 to 5,000 ions per cubic cm.
Ion
generators typically produce more than 1,000,000 to 10,000,000 negative
ions per cubic cm. Some machines even boast an output of 500 trillion negative
ions per cubic cm! This is simply too much.
Air-Zone's
ozone generators produce negative ions of about 10,000 to 30,000 per cubic
cm. Therefore, the amount of negative ions output from our ozone generators
is good enough for giving indoor air that fresh clean smell, and yet is
not too much as to be irritating to your eyes, lungs, and throat.
Overuse
of negative ionization pushes dust particles to the walls and floor. In
fact for ionization to be truly effective, ionizers must generate so many
ions that they cause headaches and sore throats.
More
is not always better!
The
fact is even with this overabundance of ionization there is only limited,
temporary air cleaning
being done and ZERO Air
Purifying being
accomplished. Nothing is being killed by the ions. Nothing is being
Purified.
In
other words ionizers are simply pushing around
the
floating dirt to the surfaces in your room!
Too Much Ionization Will
Turn Walls Black!
The problem with this
is that the same dust can be kicked right back into the air for you to
breathe. The dirt that does not begin to float again will stick to whatever
surface is close. After a few months walls, floors, appliances, and furniture
begin to build up a layer of dirt on them. If you put an ionizer on a table
near a wall, the wall will develop a black halo of dirt in just a couple
of days!
Realize that what all
so-called "air cleaning" ionizers do is limited
to pushing around lightweight particles of dust. They cannot effectively
kill
odors.
For removing odors, and
light dust only
OZONE works the best by killing
the offending organisms.
If
in fact you have severe dust problems it is much better to collect
dust in a true HEPA
filter rather than have an ionizer create a film of dirt on your household
surfaces. We also offer a high quality line of the worlds best HEPA
filters for serious dust & dander problems.
If
dust and odors are present, a combination of an ozone generator
and a HEPA filter
are
the best method of dealing with these problems.
Read
more about the overuse of ionization below.
Zero
Nitrogen Oxides
Nitrogen
Oxides are a by product of every other corona
discharge ozone generation system available today. These gases are undesired
and have even been found to be dangerous to living beings. Some ozone generation
systems put out an extremely high amount of these gases.
Old
fashioned corona ozone plates can produce high amounts of Nitrogen
Oxides. These oxides are irritating to breathe,
and could be dangerous. Nitrogen Oxides
have no desired place in ozone production.
Permanently
Sealed High Voltage Transformers
Just
about every ozone generator manufacturer simply uses open cased, iron core,
high voltage transformers.
Unless
a very expensive oversized transformer is used the transformer can
burn out by the shorting out of the old fashioned ozone generator plates.
Companies
don't want to spend the money for expensive oversized transformers and
thus they often fail.
One
company even uses the same transformer in their $200 model as their $1100
model. To us that spells rip-off.
It
also leads to premature failure of the power transformer.
Standard
transformers are coils wound on an exposed iron core. This core is extremely
susceptible to rust and oxidation.
The
transformer literally self destructs in a high moisture, high ozone environment.
As
the core and windings degrade it eventually shorts out and blows.
Considering these are units in high ozone generating machines, and the
fact that ozone generators are often used in moist environments to combat
mold and mildew, it is simply not a very smart idea to use these types
of transformers in an ozone generator since they are destined to eventually
fail.
Transformer
burnout accounts for a large amount of ozone generator failures.
It
was recommended to us to use completely enclosed transformers. Not
only are the core and windings protected from moisture and oxidation, these
transformers are also very stable and burnout resistant. These units
are more expensive, but in the long run it eliminates the time and effort
of replacing the transformer, the most expensive component in any ozone
generator.
Air-Zone®
only uses completely sealed transformers that are properly heat sinked
for even heat dispersion.
We
use oversized transformers so that they rarely even become warm to the
touch.
Our
larger models include additional transformers in order to be able to handle
higher ozone outputs.
Our
largest models contain 12 transformers.
Some
companies who try to get away by simply using just a single transformer
in all their models. They may even use the exact same transformer
in every model!
How
can a single transformer handle the loads of a machine that vary in ozone
levels 30 times from their smallest model to their largest? It's just not
sound engineering.
Multiple
Transformers and "Upgradable Ozone Generators"
Air-Zone®
uses multiple transformers in our different models. How can a single
transformer that is used in a small ozone machine be expected to handle
the much higher load in a large ozone generator?
Many
competitors machines simply use ONE
transformer, the SAME EXACT
transformer in many of their different low and high ozone output generator
models.
Whether
it be a single plate 1000 mg/hr model, a 5 plate 3600 mg/hr model, a 5
plate 5000 mg/hr model, or a 10 plate 10000 mg/hr model, some manufacturers
use the same exact transformer in every machine.
How
can the SAME transformer that is expected to handle one high voltage ozone
element, handle ten high voltage ozone elements?
If
a competitor states "Our transformer is so good we can use the same one
in our low powered model as our high powered model" then what justifies
the huge jump in price between the low and high powered models?
It
seems to us they are just charging the customers empty dollars of more
and more profits for increased ozone power.
That
leads us to two possible conclusions: Either the transformer in the 10
plate 10,000 mg/hr model is woefully undersized, or 1000 mg/hr ozone generator
is using a transformer that is already properly sized for a higher powered
machine,
If
the latter is the case, and the ozone plates are as low cost as they say,
then why the huge price jump between lower and higher powered ozone generators?
That's
why ozone generators that are "upgradable" by simply adding more ozone
plates are not very well designed.
The
load on the transformer HAS to be radically different on a single or five
plate ozone generator.
This
is proven by the fact that when a competitor adds 4 more ozone plates to
a 1000 mg/hr machine
that the total ozone output does NOT
equal
5000 mg/hr.
The
"upgraded" generator now only puts out 3600
mg/hr, the missing 1400 mg/hr of ozone
output has been lost
because the transformer has a hard time handling the different load. That
is the indication of a poorly designed ozone generator.
That
proves that the load is radically different when you simply add more ozone
plates to a power transformer.
If
the transformer has been strained so that it looses that much ozone power,
then it can be concluded it is that much closer to straining and blowing
out. It has to run at a higher temperature.
Upgradable
ozone generators can very unstable due to the additional load placed on
the transformer
They
are the "cheap" way to solve a complicated problem instead of making a
properly designed machine.
Air-Zone
always
uses multiple transformers in our different higher powered models.
Our
XT-2000
uses a single transformer. The XT-4000
uses 2 transformers. The XT-6000
uses 3 power transformers.
Our
XT-14000
uses 6 power transformers and our XT-28000
uses 12 separate transformers.
We
do this because to present a balanced load, and to have even power distribution.
It
is better to use multiple transformers when doubling or tripling the ozone
power.
It
only makes good sense. It makes for a more balanced ozone machine.
We
don't just add two more ozone elements to the XT-2000
to make it a 4000 mg/hr machine.
The
XT-4000
uses 2 separate transformers. Simply adding ozone elements isn't the proper
solution. Adding 2 more elements would NOT
equal 4000 mg/hr. It might only increase the ozone power to 3200 mg/hr
because the load presented to the transformer would be completely different.
That's
why ozone generators that are "upgradable" by simply adding more ozone
plates are not very well designed.
The
load on the transformer MUST
to be radically different on a single or five plate ozone generator.
Keep
in mind the fact that competitors also use ozone plate technology where
each "plate" has 3 pieces in it that can easily move around. They
use a spring system to keep each part of the plate in perfect alignment.
A 10 plate, 10,000 mg/hr ozone machine will have 30 separate pieces in
its 10 ozone plates!
A
10,000 mg/hr "plate type" ozone machine has 30 separate parts that must
ALWAYS
be in perfect alignment or the parts will short out and the transformer
will burn out.
If
a single piece of the glass or mica non-conductor breaks, cracks,
or just slips out of alignment due to a lack of spring tension, then the
electrical conductor, screen parts of the ozone elements can arc and cause
an electrical short. With 30 separate parts in this type of configuration
the likelihood of a problem like this happening is very high.
When
an ozone plate short outs, the transformer is also shorted out. No
matter how well it is built, a transformer cannot stand being shorted out
for very long. The transformer will get very hot, very quickly.
Electrical transformers cannot stand to have a high voltage, shorted load
on them for very long without blowing out.
We
know this because we have tried that type of technology and found it to
be very unstable.
Air-Zone®
not
only uses multiple transformers in our higher powered units to help balance
the load, we also use our U.S. patented ozone elements which do not have
components in them that can move, or shift out of alignment.
There
is no possible way for them to short out as standard ozone plates can.
Don't
buy the argument that using multiple transformers gives a machine more
to break down.
The
truth is if properly sized transformers are used, and not strained by overloading
them with too many ozone plates, there is very little chance they will
blow out.
Simply
adding ozone plates as some other manufacturers do, is what overloads electrical
transformers and makes them more likely to blow out.
Our
XT-14000
and our XT-28000
use special monitoring circuits, and indicator lamps on the front panel
to always let the user know the status of each ozone element and transformer.
No other ozone generator made has this feature.
If
a transformer ever blows out the user will know about it right away.
Because of these units modular construction this problem is very easy to
fix.
Air-Zone®
ozone
generators are simply more stable ozone generators than most other brands.
Electronic
protection circuits and fuses prevent our internal components from overload
& burnout.
High
Impact PVC Outer Cases and Chassis
Air-Zone®
uses
High Impact Top Grade PVC outer cases and inner chassis. Why PVC plastic
and not steel or aluminum? The reason is cheap steel will rust and oxidize
in a high ozone environment.
Many
companies are even using pretty wood boxes that resemble loudspeakers.
These ozone generators look nice but it is highly impractical to use wood
as an ozone generator housing. It will quickly deteriorate and warp in
a high ozone or moisture filled environment. Wood cabinets look nice, but
are highly impractical for use in an ozone generator. They can actually
begin flaking apart in just a few months of use.
We
came to the conclusion that using High Impact PVC Plastic for the outer
casing and the inner chassis was the way to go. PVC does not oxidize nor
deteriorate with age and use in a high ozone, or moist environment.
After
much testing we found that PVC plastic was the way to go. High Impact PVC's
are also used in the construction the United States Space Shuttles.
High
Impact PVC is extremely sturdy, and expensive. Don't be fooled by other
companies who use cheap grades of plastic that are easily breakable. High
Impact PVC will last for years, it is tough, and it can take a beating.
Cheap steel
or wood cabinets look nice,
but they are
extremely impractical for use in ozone generators.
They will
not last, and will eventually corrode and deteriorate in a high ozone environment.
Many
ozone generators made today actually self-deteriorate in a high ozone environment.
They actually end up destroying themselves. Our ozone generators
are built from the best materials we can find. No expense has been spared
in making them the best ozone machines available.
The
XT-28000
is built using a very high grade of surgical steel that resists oxidation
in a high ozone environment. Most ozone generators made out of steel
use a cheap, thin, steel that rusts in a short time.
Ozone
Element & Fan Placement
When
ozone elements are located deep inside the machine the ozone buildup inside
the unit actually begins to self destruct in the high ozone environment.
All our ozone elements are in front of our machines so that the ozone has
no chance of destroying the ozone generator itself.
Many
companies place the fan in front of the ozone elements. Ozone
is a very powerful oxidant. Placing the fan in front of the ozone elements
allows the ozone to eat away the fan causing early failure.
Air-Zone's
fans are placed behind the ozone elements to push the ozone out
of the machine.
Electronic
Control Circuits
Air-Zone®
uses high grade electronic circuits to control the functions of our ozone
generators. Special computer chips have been designed to precisely control
all of our ozone generators functions. From accurate ozone outputs, to
advanced features like remote control, fan speeds, and built in timers,
no other ozone generator manufacturer even comes close to matching our
controls and features. The electronics are also protected from burnout
with fuses and special electronic protection circuits.
Soldered
Wire Connections
Believe
it or not many ozone generators internal wire connections are simply pieces
of bare wire twisted together and held in place by a simple wire nut. In
a unit designed to be moved to different locations, vibrations can eventually
loosen the wire connections. The copper wires are stranded and every strand
will oxidize and eventually you have a bad connection point.
In
a high ozone environment the oxidation of exposed wires can occur very
quickly.
This
method of wire connection is outdated in a product such as on ozone generator
and can only lead to disaster.
ALL
internal connections of our ozone generators are soldered into place. Even
if the outside of the soldered connection oxidizes 95% of the connection
will always remain intact because the connections are held together by
melted metal.
Soldering
is the only sensible way to connect wires in the 21'st Century.
Can
you imagine the Space Shuttle being held together by old fashioned wire
nuts!
"Houston
we have a main computer failure, there are all these wire connectors floating
around in the cabin!"
True
Remote Controls
Air-Zone®
uses True Wireless Remote Controls on our ozone generators designed for
home use. All of the units functions including on/off, ozone output levels,
fan speeds, and timers can be controlled from across the room with our
sophisticated hand held remotes. No other manufacturer uses true remote
controls like we do.
