The first problem of cigarette smoke are the many toxic gasses produced by burning cigarette's.
These gasses are in part produced because cigarette manufacturers dose the tobacco in many different chemicals in order to flavor the cigarette's and keep them burning. Ammonia gasses, Carbon Monoxide, and phenol are just a few of the dozens of toxic gasses produced when cigarette's are burned.  Besides being highly toxic, these gasses also emit many foul odors.

The second problematic component of cigarette smoke is the very high level of tar solids that are disseminated into the air when cigarette's are burned. This is the same petroleum based tar used to make asphalt roads.  This petroleum based tar clouds the air and sticks to every surface of the room.  Not only can you see this tar in the air you can also see and feel this yellow brownish sticky substance on surfaces such as walls and furniture. Cigarette smoke tar even seeps into your homes air vents, and appliances with vents such as TV's and stereos. This disgusting goop discolors paint and it also has a terrible, sickening odor.

Because there are these two major components of cigarette smoke many times one type of air purifier is not strong enough to help remove it.

This is why to have a total smoke removal solution in an enclosed space we recommend a two method solution.

Of course the WORST way to try and handle a cigarette smoke problem is by the use of an ionizer. Ionizers simply make particulate matter stick to every surface to your home.  While they may seem like a good solution at first because ionizers can release a fresh clean odor, the fact that they FORCE the solids of cigarette smoke tar to your surfaces, only leads to a much worse problem over the long term. This type of quick fix isn't going to work and it's going to lead to your home smelling foul much sooner than no solution at all. As shown in the diagram above, simple Oxygen molecules known as O2, can be turned into Ozone, O3, by the introduction of the high voltage electrical charge given by an Air-Zone Ozone Generator.
